Details:The adhesion between solids is classically described by the JKR-law, providing the benchmark to characterise elastic and adhesive material properties. In this talk we discuss how the JKR-scaling breaks down for very soft materials. This points to a deep connection with wetting phenomena: we present a theory that unifies liquid-wetting and solid-adhesion. | ||
