Water drop impact on a variety of superhydrophobic micro-structured surfaces was experimentally investigated with high speed recordings. It was found that drop impact onto certain patterned surfaces can cause wetting at the impact zone, despite of the hydrophobicity of the substrates. The small micro-scale patterns can have a large influence on the macro-scale splashing behaviour. Also the surrounding air pressure has shown to play a key role in splashing
